According to WebMD the winter holiday time is also a time of Seasonal Affective Disorder- the winter blues. What it doesn’t say is that managing this stress is really easy. Follow these simple techniques if “SAD” affects you:

1. Go outside for 15 minutes in the morning.

2. Exercise for half an hour each day. Exercise is linked with a positive mental state. It helps us manage stress!

3. Meditate each day. Begin by breathing deeply, right in to your abdomen. Let the stress and tension out. Breathe in happiness and breathe out the winter blues. Just let them go, you don’t need those feelings any more.

4. Find five things to be happy about each day. Write them down and talk about them!

5. Eat healthy. Avoid highly refined foods which cause lethargy. Healthy eating is great for stress management! Your mental state is linked to your physical state so take care of your physical body. Eat right.

6. Have fun in the holidays! Serve someone, help someone. Volunteer your time and help someone else in need. You may realize that life is better than you thought!

Using these simple tips can help anyone manage stress and enjoy the holiday season. Have a great life!

Let these Financial Stress release tips manage stress for you!

Stress- the feeling- happens when there is a trigger, an event or situation that we don’t resolve. It’s caused when we have a problem but don’t take action to resolve the problem.

According to many people we’re in a financial crisis at the moment. So let’s learn some simple actions that help manage financial stress. These techniques were inspired by the Stress reducer. Remember: stress is caused when we don’t take action to resolve a problem.

1. Get a clear picture of your financial situation. This may make you feel VERY uncomfortable. That is OK. You might have been running from this so now is a good time to face it. Do a budget of what you currently spend. Include ALL of your expenses. Include ALL of your income. Be honest. Look at shopping receipts, credit card and bank statements to make sure you’ve included everything.

2. Do you earn more than you spend or spend more than you earn? Do you break even? How can you tip the scale to earning more than you spend? Stress is often caused by thinking “I can’t do anything about this.” Change it to “what can I do about this?”

3. Learn to give. Giving money to someone else really teaches money discipline. You’ll appreciate your dollars when you give some to others. And help someone else as well. Learn to give a little first.

4. Set an ideal budget. Include savings. Most financial experts recommend saving 10% of your gross income. Sounds alot? It is if it’s your last dollar! Put it away before you do your spending. Then use what’s left over.

5. Reduce non essential spending. Take away and entertainment can be reduced, giving you more freedom for saving and debt repayment. Don’t worry, it’s only for a while as you get control of your finances. As you learn to manage your money you’ll be able to allocate cash for entertainment and fun.

6. Increase earning! Can you get a promotion, run a business on the side, get a whole new job? How can you turn your hobby in to cash? What is something you are all ready doing that you can profit from? What’s something new you can do that you can profit from? Explore the options, you may find having financial freedom is easier than you think.

These actions will help manage financial stress. However, sometimes we need more to relieve stress than this. Stress management techniques can help us think clearly to find solutions ourselves.

Breathe deeply and remind yourself that it is nowhere near as bad as it feels. In fact, most stress is imagined and exaggerated about something that never happens or if it does, it’s not a bad as we thought. Learn to let it go, and you will think clearly so everything can be ok. Life goes on! Enjoy it!

Last Thursday I was given the privilege of speaking with at a local Stroke Survivors Support Group about how stress can ruin your life.

What many people don’t realise is how much impact stress has on their life. Stress causes anything from health conditions to arguments with your boss. Do you have unnecessary arguements with your boss or any one else?

When we’re under stress our emotional and physical reserves are at an all time low. Just one comment, one traffic light, one more demand and we release our fury to regain some control (not that it does but it does release some tension). Many people don’t release their stress at all, and allow it to build up until their body and mind can take no more and that’s when events like stroke happen.

What can we do about stress? It’s simple- we learn to manage it! Ok, now that’s not that simple. But possible! We can learn to deal with and manage stress. We can even make some stress go away! Wouldn’t you like to make your stress go away?

My upcoming best selling book is full of techniques and tips to manage stress. Until then, let’s look at some simple stress management techniques:

1. Take a deep breath, and let go of everything that’s stressing you. Let it all go.

2. Ask yourself: “why does this stress me, really? What’s the real reason behind this?”

3. Now ask yourself: “what can I do about it?”

4. Take another deep breath and see yourself doing what you decided in step three.

5. Have a great day!

Often just seeing ourselves resolving a situation is enough to manage stress associated with it, and in many instances problems resolve themselves after doing this. In many cases they don’t and that’s where real stress rmanagement techniques come in. My new best seller is full of stress relief tools.

Have a great week,

Doctors in Canada now concede that caffiene is a significant cause of stress. So much, that they suggest as the first step to manage stress, reducing or stopping caffiene intake.

Why? Caffiene actually contributes to jitteriness, nervousness or anxiety, sleep problems, muscle aches, heartburn and lack of energy! What most people don’t know is that caffiene is a drug- a stimulant which creates stress causing reactions in your brain!

Before you go on your cold turkey caffiene free kick, make sure you wean yourself gradually, doctors recommend, to avoid those migraine style withdrawal headaches. Start by reducing consumption to one serving of coffee/tea/caffienated drink less, then one less the next day, until none. You should aim to be off caffiene within three weeks. According to Canadian doctors, once people go off caffiene they don’t go back! What a simple way to manage stress!

So before you embark on your stress treatment journey, consider cutting down on your caffiene.

Stress and its impact on health is one of the emerging issues in medicine today. What many people don’t realise is the impact stress has on our body. In fact, science has found that stress can cause anything from fertility problems to symptoms of heart attack!

When our body is under stress it pulls energy from our organs to cope with stress and after a while our body starts to deteriorate. Stress is now known to contribute to diseases like this:

digestive constipation and diarrhea (ever felt sick in the stomach in a stressful moment?)

anxiety disorders

weight problems

heart disease

depression

baldness

diabetes

cancer!

If stress contributes to all these things, what can we do about it? Simple stress management techniques help us get a handle on stress in the short term, but what about the long term? And how do we stop the stress from coming in the first place?

These answers and more will be discussed in my upcoming best selling book. In the meantime, feel free to ask any questions here and I will answer them as soon as I can. Stress is something everyone experiences, but only a select group of people know how to deal with it. Become one of those people. Learn how to handle your stress today! It’s your life after all! The rewards are amazing.

To you,

A new study of office workers found that simple daily meditation can reduce stress significantly over eight weeks.

Using brain scans and patient wellbeing, researchers found that the group were better able to deal with stress and felt happier about life over the eight week period.

Researchers found that the area of the brain responsible for happy thinking was more active than that involved with negative thinking than before the trial.

Additionally staff reported increased productivity and efficiency at the legal firm where the trial took place.

This gives everyone hope that there is easy stress treatment for everybody to manage stress!

While meditation is definetely not the only form of stress management, when used with a host of other simple techniques, it can really make a difference. Now science says this too.

You can find out more about stress treatment and easy stress management you can use in my upcoming best selling book. Make this blog one of your favourites to make sure you get this life changing information.

Here we believe that stress, ALL STRESS, is manageable and overcomeable. In other words, YOU Can get rid of your stress!

Why are we so confident that everybody can get rid of their stress? Because we have seen it in our own lives as well as the lives of those we work with. Time and time again, people have learnt to control and abolish their stress. And you can too!

How? Managing stress is more than overcoming stress symptoms, more than stress management techniques, more than stress relief. It is changing your beliefs about stress!

What do I mean? Every form of stress has something we can benefit from. Every. Whether it’s the stress of doing something that hurts us, like a sore muscle when we forget to stretch after exercise or the anger we feel after an argument that teaches us to communicate better next time, all stress has a lesson.

In fact, once we recognise a real source of stress, abolishing it is as easy as 1, 2, 3. Really it’s that easy. It’s what people are doing all over the world are doing and what you can do too. But I need your help.

I have recently written a book about stress that revolutionizes the way we as a people deal with stress. I believe this book is so monumental it will change our corporate world forever, and more importantly, it will change our lives forever too. But I have a problem. I don’t have a name for my book. Here’s where you can help me.

What do you think a book about stress should be called? Remember, this book teaches you and me how to totally and completely control stress. You could even say it teaches how to get rid of stress all together!

So leave your posts below, of what you think it should be called. Everyone who does will get a FREE chapter of my revolutionary best seller as soon as it hits the shelves! Leave a comment for your very own FREE chapter of this book that could change your life.

Thankyou, I look forward to helping you release your stress,
